Released Cruises Excellence Awards 2012

The city recently hosted Malaga, where Picasso Museum, the V Excellence Awards cruise. In the event, which included nearly 200 professionals from European industry, important personalities attended the political and business related to tourism.

The awards are organized by CNMG, Cruises News Media Group, a consultancy specializing in marketing communications and promotion of national and international cruise industry.

During the gala, Andrew Look, CEO of CNMG announced the launch a radio program on cruise ships and will be broadcast on RNE Radio Exterior of Spain, which will export its contents to the five continents, with special attention to Latin America.

The second project announced the creation of a loyalty card and entertainment for cruisers to visit any Spanish destination that will offer special discounts and entertainment establishments, shopping, culture and restaurants.

Malaga Port Authority to pick up again for the second consecutive time, the prize ‘Best Spanish port.’ Enrique Linde, president of the Port Authority of Málaga, collected the award at the hands of Santiago Javier Lopez Pineiro, Chief of Department of Tourism Sport, Nature and Wellness Turespaña. Linde thanked the recognition and was very pleased with the effort made by the port and the destination to put Malaga in the global picture of the cruise.

Big winners

The company Pullmantur won two awards at the Gala of Excellence, which recognize the ‘Best Crew’, which collected Davaille Eric, Vice President Hotel Operations, and the ‘Best Company’ People ‘, which was collected by Sonia Prieto, Vice President & General Manager Sales, Marketing & Revenue.

Iberocruceros also won two awards: ‘Best Animation’ and ‘Best Quality Price’, which collected Luis Grau, Deputy General Iberocruceros. Grau applauded for three editions have been granted to users Iberocruceros company the distinction of best value.

Royal Caribbean International Group won two awards: ‘Best Shipping Premium Luxury’, which was for Celebrity Cruises and ‘Best Boat in the Mediterranean’, which this year was for the ship Liberty Of The Seas, Royal Caribbean. Wangiiemert Bethlehem, CEO of Royal Caribbean Int, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises Club picked up two awards and was very pleased with the awards, which reward the effort of the company to make available to the Spanish market the most modern ships and offer Premium range of service.

More Winners

Enrique Linde, this time as president of Málagaport, presented to Carlos Lopez, Director Commercial Excellence Award Costa Cruises’ Best recognition among travel agencies, “which went to Costa Cruises. Lopez said that for the Italian shipping company, this recognition had a special value, and the relationships with sales networks were still very important.

For its part, the prize ‘Best Picture and Marketing’ was for MSC Cruises, repeating category in the last three editions. Luigi Surace, Marketing Coordinator of MSC Cruises distinction thanked and acknowledged the work and imagination of the company to effectively reach the final consumer and the industry in general. Meanwhile, Tomas Fernandez, Director CROISIEUROPE Excellence Award Spain collected the ‘Best River Tourism Company’.

The Excellence Award for ‘Best Port / Destination in the Mediterranean’ was for Venice and Dubrovnik, which shared category. Sania Jelic, head of the Croatian Tourist Office in Spain, Kristijan Pavić, General Manager and Stephen Port Of Dubrovnik Palace Venezia Terminal Paseggeri Sales Manager, collected the awards.

Special Recognition

As each edition, Cruises News Media Group delivered their plaques of recognition. This time, MSC Cruises was recognized as ‘Best Bet for the Spanish Market’, being the shipping company that offers more Spanish ports in their itineraries. Emiliano Gonzalez, CEO of MSC Cruises said the vocation of the company to bring the product to the top cruise destinations.

Recognition of the ‘Best International Relations’ Creuers has been awarded to the Port of Barcelona. The company just won a major contract to manage the Singapore Cruise Terminal. Eduardo Cortada, president of the company received the award and expressed the importance of being able to export a successful management model. The company manages the cruise terminals of Barcelona and Malaga Cruise Terminal, Cruise through Malaga.

Finally, carriers Norwegian Cruise Line and Star Clipper were honored as ‘Best Bet for Malaga’, to be two owners who will be using the port city as a crucial factor in their itineraries. Guadalupe Rubio Brouwer, head of Norwegian Cruise Line Marketing at its European headquarters in Wiesbaden and Beautiful Jose, director of Mundomar Cruises, Star Clipper representative in Spain, collected the awards.
